TMTIC Launches Premium Tanzanite Mine Experience to Boost Tanzania’s Mineral Tourism Sector

Arusha, Tanzania – The Tanzania Minerals Tourism Information Centre (TMTIC) has introduced its flagship Tanzanite Mine Experience, offering unprecedented access to the world’s only source of the rare blue gemstone Tanzanite.

The new initiative allows visitors, researchers, gemologists, and investors to explore the Merelani mining belt under international safety and conservation standards. Participants will gain firsthand insight into the unique geological formation of Tanzanite within the Usagaran Proterozoic system, observe controlled extraction processes, and engage with local cutters and polishers.

This premium experience forms part of TMTIC’s broader mission to transform Tanzania into a global minerals tourism hotspot. The program integrates geology, culture, investment awareness, and community empowerment.
