Northern Geo-Circuit Arusha
This circuit is centered on the Ngorongoro-Lengai UNESCO Global Geopark, focusing on active volcanic systems, deep human history, and unique caldera ecosystems.
- Palaeontology & Tectonics: Guided tours of Olduvai Gorge (The Cradle of Mankind) and the Laetoli Footprints (hominid) to explore exposed volcanic beds, early human evolution, and the spectacular Great Rift Valley fault systems.
- Volcanology & Landscape Geology: Expeditions to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater (the world's largest intact caldera), Mount Meru (a stratovolcano), the active Ol Doinyo Lengai (unique carbonatite lava), and the alkaline Lake Natron. Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, is also a key asset for volcanic and glacial studies.
- Ecology & Water Systems: Integration of sites like Lake Manyara, Momella Lakes, and the Tarangire River System to study the interplay of geology, hydrology, and unique ecosystems (e.g., flamingos, baobab trees).
- Geopark Routes: Offering specialized, full-day Geo-Safaris across the four official Geopark routes (North, Caldera, South, Ol Doinyo Lengai), each led by certified geological guides.
